Meet Your Instructor

Dr. Lisa Kay, EdD, ATR-BC

Dr. Kay is the Associate Professor of Art Education at Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, as well as a board-certified art therapist and art educator. Her research and publications concern the intersections and collaborations of art education and art therapy focusing on students with special needs and adolescents who have experienced trauma and adversity. Dr. Kay’s work has been published widely in many notable publications including the International Journal of Education through Art, and Art Education. She is a Fulbright Scholar, recipient of many prestigious awards, and has been named to the National Art Education Association’s Class of 2021 Distinguished Fellows, recognized for her service to the art education profession and exemplary teaching, research, and leadership.
